National Membership Forms

  • National membership can offer you:
    • Access to all of the ACS journals and databases
    • A lot of (informative) emails from the Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN) digital magazine
    • Frequent webinars or Q&A’s with anything from career advice to up-and-coming science
    • A good way to network
  • The department of chemistry and biochemistry will pay for your membership if you’re a:
    • Chemistry major
    • Biochemistry major
    • Environmental chemistry major
  • Everyone else is welcome to pay for their own ($25) or remain a free member of our chapter
  • Returning members can turn in renewal forms if you have them - if not, come talk to us!

Duq Days - Sept. 17th

  • Come help us make liquid nitrogen ice cream for the first time this year!
  • Even if you’re not helping, come say hi and grab some free ice cream :)

Speak Simply

  • Round 2: Sept. 26th at 1pm in Union 119
  • Come watch our participants compete for prizes
  • Audience members get 2 raffle tickets each - you could win a t-shirt, gift card, sticker, or keychain!

  • October 8th, 11am-3pm on the A walk
  • We’re making the Periodic Table of Cupcakes
  • Keep an eye out for a sign-up to help ice them or to give them out during the event!

T-Shirt Design Contest

Mole Day/Tie-Dye

  • New T-shirt design to be announced
  • Corn-MOLE tournament on Oct. 24th along with tie-dye
  • Dye a new (or old!) shirt and win some mole-themed prizes

  • Take a walk around campus
  • Redecorate your room/clean
  • Staying organized

  • Reward yourself
  • Track your progress

Study With Your Friends

  • Have a study plan
  • Put your phones away (play the game where the first person to pick up their phone pays for dinner)
  • Set a time limit
  • Study in pairs or small groups
  • Choose a quiet space to study

Taking Breaks When Studying

  • Stick to a scheduled time limit for working and when you break, use a timer
  • Take a walk during your break
  • Have a snack
  • Try shifting gears after your break
