Purpose of the Survey

Learn more about students’ plans for after high school in order to:

Better understand students’ experiences in pathways and plans after high school
Gather students’ perspectives on community college
Identify opportunities for targeted outreach

Purpose (from HC): The survey provides the opportunity for the SDICCC regional consortium, high school and community college (K14) career technical education staff to gain insight about the current student CTE pathway perspectives, as well as their plans to continue their pathway journey after high school. This survey will inform us how to improve awareness and promotion of the variety of career education programs offered at the local community colleges and adult schools, and how to better reach students who do not have a post-secondary plan.

SDCOE and ICOE will then coordinate intervention during the Spring 2022 semester, if needed. SDICCC will assist with planning this intervention, which may include coordination of community college, adult education and noncredit career education program informational sessions with CTE teachers for their students.

Survey Details

Developed collaboratively with San Diego & Imperial Counties Community Colleges Regional Consortium, the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE), the Imperial County Office of Education (ICOE), and WestEd
Target population is high school students grades 9-12 enrolled in CTE programs across the region
Survey consists of 19 questions (18 multiple-choice,1 open-response)
