OUR WINEMAKER

NICOLA BIASI

Every bottle reflects true craftsmanship, stemming fromthorough

study, experience, and a keen sense of appreciation.

Our winery proudly relies on the talent and experience of Nicola Biasi, recognized in 2020 as the best young winemaker in Italy. From his work in Friuli to Tuscany, and even through his international experiences in South Africa and Australia, Nicola has developed a wide range of skills and sensibilities — a rare understanding of raw materials and a unique intuition that brings a modern, forward‑thinking vision to our winery.

Friuli is renowned for its esteemed white wines, attributed to several key factors: The region’s UNIQUE MICROCLIMATE, influenced by the Alps, provides warm days and cool nights, crucial for preserving grape acidity and freshness. This balance allows complex flavors to develop, resulting in vibrant, nuanced wines.

The MINERAL RICH MARL AND SANDSTONE MICRO SOIL add distinct mineral notes. Friuli winemakers, with generations of expertise, blend traditional techniques with modern innovations to elevate their wines.

Friuli wines are celebrated for their AROMATIC PROFILES featuring citrus, stone fruits, and floral undertones, pairing beautifully with various dishes and loved by wine enthusiasts worldwide.

THE ESSENCE OF OUR WINERY’S TERRITORY

Between the sea and the Alpine snow‑capped mountains lies a narrow cultivable strip of land, shaped by alternating layers of clay, lime, and sandstone.

This region offers a rare harmony between the sweetness of marine clay and the mineral toughness of the Isonzo gravels.

A natural equilibrium that enhances the character of our grape varieties and gives life to wines of exceptional quality.

And it is precisely here that our winery is located.

THE ISONZO RIVER

In the vicinity of the Isonzo River, in a hilly, gravelly, and cooler environment, our white grape varieties thrive, developing remarkable flavor intensity and mineral richness.

This area is naturally suited for white wines: until just a few years ago, the land where our vineyards now grow was part of the riverbed, leaving behind a soil made of pebbles and gravel, still clearly visible today, that provides the perfect foundation for freshness, minerality, and aromatic purity.

The mosaics, created in the 4th century AD and rediscovered in 1909, are among the largest and oldest in the Christian world.

Founded by the Romans in 181 BC, Aquileia was once a key military, commercial, and cultural hub. This land is also famous for wine; legionaries cultivated vines here, intertwining them with trees, shaping a landscape that remains ours today.

OUR LABELS

It takes a pinch of courage to follow new and uncharted paths. But, in the end, that's what we love to do. The new labels were created in collaboration with a Spanish designer. We sought to blend modernity with tradition, achieving a contemporary design inspired by the mosaics of Aquileia.

Our commitment to sustainable practices is evident in every aspect of our operations, ensuring that we contribute positively to environmental preservation while producing exceptional wines.

In Friuli, we were among the pioneers in obtaining the prestigious Equalitas certification # What does Equalitas represent? Equalitas is an organization that promotes a collective approach to sustainability in the wine sector. It is a unique model, recognized at the national level, which translates into a collective brand as a guarantee for consumers.

Our participation in the SQNPI system (National Quality System for Integrated Production) allows us to manage crops meticulously, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring food safety.

SUSTAINABLES COLLABORATIONS

We collaborate with Krill Design, a company that produces materials using our grape pomace. Together, we are starting to develop our own gadgets, aiming to create a sustainable circular economy.

We are collaborating with Nomacorc, a company that provides us with corks made from 100% recyclable plant-based waste. Not only are these corks technically superior to traditional cork, but they are also much more sustainable.

In 2025 we completed the installation of photovoltaic systems in the basement with an integrated cabin, achieving energy self-sufficiency.

In 2026, we are working on installing electric vehicle charging stations for all communities, promoting sustainable transport.
