The best way to contact me is through email. I do my best to respond within 24 hours. I also use the Class Dojo app to communicate your child’s behavior during the day through a point system. Please be sure to sign up by downloading the app and following the directions for our class! (see below)

Please do not rely on your child to relay any transportation changes to me. Please always email me before the school day to ensure I get the message. I sometimes cannot check email during the day,

so please let the office

know if there are any

last minute changes in

transportation.

I believe that the parent-child-teacher connection is an integral part of success in school. I am here to support you and your child and will always be their advocate. I hope you let me know if you have any concerns about home or school life. Your child’s happiness and overall well being are priorities to me during their time in fourth grade. I want them to feel safe and loved! I know it’s going to be a wonderful year!

The very first day of school, we will discuss and set classroom expectations for the year. Our classroom expectations follow the Cheetah Spot Expectations:

TO

MEET THE CHEETAHS

Your child will bring home a daily folder that includes all homework assignments for the day. This folder will also serve as a way to communicate with the teacher. Any notes need to be placed inside the folder for the student to hand in to the teacher. On Fridays, you will find completed assessments, work, letters from the school, and other information. Please sign and return all assessments. Please go through your child’s folder each weekend and return any necessary papers signed each Monday morning.

Each day we will have a

“working snack.”

Please send in a healthy snack that does not require any utensils (no candy). Students are allowed to have reusable water bottles at their desk.

Individually wrapped birthday treats are allowed (ex: bags of chips, packs of cookies). You may also send in pencils or some type of small toy for the class. If your child is having a birthday party and you would like to give out invitations in school, you must invite the whole class. Please email me in advance. Thank you for your understanding!

Homework typically consists of a math worksheet each night and daily reading. If classwork is not finished, then your child may have to complete it for homework as well.

Daily Reading: Please encourage your child to read daily for 30 minutes and record it in the planner. All parents are encouraged to participate in reading with their child.

Math Homework: Your child will have homework each evening, except on Friday and track-outs, to practice a skill taught in math that day.
