QUICKWRITE ORGANIZER: EPISODE 10, “TRUST ME”

WRITE A THANK-YOU NOTE

With a little help from you, Clive created a terrific presentation for another organization that is starting a volunteer program. You want to write him a formal thank-you note. That’s right—a note. On paper!

To help you think about how to praise Clive’s presentation, complete the table below.

When you write your thank-you note to Clive, you will want to praise different parts of his presentation. Praising someone is like applauding him or her, except with words instead of hands!

Many words can be used to praise, but you want to choose the word or words that are most specific. Practice doing that on this table.

To the right of each presentation feature listed, circle the best adjective to praise that feature.

In your thank-you note, use your own words of praise for Clive’s presentation. You could praise specific parts, or the whole thing.

You can either go back to the game to write, or write your thank-you note in the space below, then copy and paste it into the box in the game.

WRITING PROMPT

Your thank-you note should be 5-6 sentences long. Before you hit "Send," be sure you've covered the following points:

  • used evidence from Clive's presentation and examples to show how strong his points were
  • used words of praise and encouragement to support Clive before his meeting with the governor and her staff
