Activity 1: Webquest
What is it?
The teacher sets up a reference list of links related to the concept that students click on to read, watch videos, etc and then do a project to show and reinforce what they learned. The WebQuest will list all directions and steps, including scaffolding, for the students to follow.

Activity 2: Book Trailer as an Alternative Book Report
A book trailer is a book report using photos and text to summarize a book. Students will create a summary of the book and use photos, pictures from the book, and videos to show the summary visually. They may need a narrator voiceover or background music. Check out this iMovie book trailer here.

Activity 3: Digital Citizenship Web/Blogsite
Using a wiki page, students will create a website with information and references on topics discussed in class on digital citizenship and internet safety. They will also blog about their personal feelings or experiences on their topic and respond to their peers’ blog posts.

Activity 4:
Social media debate on an historical topic
Students use Twitter and Facebook to post persuasive arguments to debate the pros and cons of an issue from a period they are studying in history. Examples: North vs South in the Civil War. Revolutionists vs Tories, to rebel or not to rebel against King George in the Revolutionary War.
Could also be to debate current events using contemporary political figures.

Activity 5:
Skype lesson - guest speaker
The class will talk to an expert using Skype. They will be able to ask the expert questions in their area of expertise in real time and get answers.
