2nd Grade 2020/2021
This week we focused on...
Theme: This week we discussed the similarities and differences between a house and a houseboat. We also observed a map of plateaus in the United States then learned about the food, shelter, and homes of the Plateau Indians.
Math: The students worked on a Unit 1 Checkpoint to see where students are at. We also practiced different addition strategies with The Addition Table. We ended the week with the IXL Diagnostic.
Writing: The 2nd graders started a Small Moment Story and we practiced stretching out the details. We also finished Owl Moon and practiced magnifying our details.
Reading: We continued practicing our Daily 5 sessions and read two stories about families. The class has been practicing read to someone with their classmates.
EE: Ms. Naomi read about animal homes and the students went out to look for animal homes. The students drew the homes they found.
