Windsor Castle:

  • Half day trip out to the Royal Family’s retreat. Join a local guide on your half-day excursion to Windsor, built by WIlliam the Conqueror in 1070. Priceless objects are found in the State Apartments, from paintings by Rubens to Henry VIII'S sword and suit of armor. You will also see Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, and St. George’s Chapel. The final resting place of many monarchs Cost: $88.
  • The deadline to enroll on this optional is 70 days before the tour.

Optional Excursion

NOTE: By adding this excursion you will miss out on sights in London.

As trip leaders, we will make a final decision about this excursion based on conversations with our Tour Director and Consultant.

All money will be refunded if this excursion does not occur.

Passports and visas

  • Valid passports are required �for all travelers.
  • Name and gender listed�on your EF account must exactly match passport information.
  • Passports must be valid for �6 months after tour.
  • Non-U.S. citizens may require special visas or other travel documents.
  • Make 4 color copies of your passport
    • One for trip sponsors
    • One for carry-on bag
    • One for checked luggage
    • One for home

  • EF will use the emergency contact list if they need to communicate any information while we’re on tour.
  • Emergency contacts cannot be traveling with this group and must be available for the duration of the tour.
  • Confirm your emergency contacts at least 30 days prior to departure.
  • Make sure your information is correct and up to date. All changes can be made on your personalized website.

  • ATMs are a good way to get money-check with your bank about potential fees.
  • Don’t bring traveler’s checks, they can be difficult to cash.
  • Notify your bank or credit card company that you’ll be abroad.
  • Suggestion: Bring the equivalent of $100 of Pounds and $100 worth of Euros with you.
  • We are responsible for our lunches and tipping (we will take up tips at our May meeting)

Packing

  • Pack light: We will be responsible for loading our own luggage on and off the bus and into hotels

(Elevators will be limited and we may be climbing lots of stairs!)

  • You are responsible for any luggage handling fees charged by the airlines. See the fees at eftours.com/baggage

  • Carry any valuables or �medications in your �EF backpack or carry-on.
  • Pack a change of clothes in your carry-on in case �your luggage is lost.

  • Contact the airlines at least �72 hours prior to departure.

Baggage allowance

Seat assignments

  • Our seats will be assigned �at check-in.

  • Frequent flier miles cannot be redeemed, and tickets �are not eligible for upgrade.

Hotels

  • Generally, hotel rooms are smaller than in the U.S.
  • Many hotels may not have air conditioning or elevators, and late check-ins may be necessary.
  • Wi-Fi will not always be available in hotels.

  • Students are roomed 3-4 per room in a combination of twin and shared double beds.
  • Adults will share twin rooms with other adults.
  • Start thinking about who you would like to room with. We will do our very best to accommodate your preferences but you must remain flexible based on unique circumstances.
  • We will have Tribe Time Lunch Meeting March 3rd. Bring your lunch, get to know each other, and talk rooming. (Nash-W186)

Meals

  • Breakfast typically includes cereal, bread, juice, coffee and tea.
  • Lunch is on our own.
  • Dinners will be a mix of local cuisine and familiar dishes and will be a preset meal for our entire group, rather than ordering from a menu.
  • Food portions are smaller than they are in the U.S.
  • Table water is included, other beverages are an additional cost.
  • Bottled water is included in countries where it is deemed necessary.
  • Please inform us of any allergies.

Important Pre-Tour Expectations

Preparing for an amazing tour requires a lot of preparation and we need your help to make things run as smoothly as possible. Therefore we ask that you:

1. Check your email frequently and respond in a timely manner to all requests. If you need us to use a different email, tell us tonight.

2. Please sign paperwork and submit digital forms by the expected due dates, if not earlier.

3. Be responsible for making sure all of your information is correct in the EF system and provide all important information to the trip leaders including emergency contacts, passport information, medical information, and meal preferences.

We want to make sure that each and every participant on the trip represents our group and EF Tours with the highest integrity.
