How many credit units can I obtain in the current period (September 2025 – May 2026)? Will they all be covered by CTA?

  1. There are NINE university credit units available as part of the 2025-2026 CTA University Credit Program in the current period. SIX will be paid for by CTA. You may purchase three additional units for $85 each payable directly to CSU Chico.
  2. The 2025-2026 University Credit Program will span for three semesters in the current period (Sept. 2nd ’25 – May 8th ’26): 2025 Fall Semester, 2025-2026 Winter Semester, and the 2026 Spring Semester.
  3. You can choose to claim all nine available credits in one semester or spread them out throughout the three semesters in the current period. Only Professional Growth hours earned from September 2, 2025 – May 8, 2026 are qualified for University Credit for the current period.

Earning Units

  • For your records, download your CTA Professional Growth Hours certificates issued to you at the conclusion of each conference or session watched on the Virtual Pass to Online Learning Platform.

CTA members can earn the 6 free units and purchase the three additional units for each school year and summer session every year.

That is 12 free units and an opportunity to purchase 6 additional units every year

and signing into your CTA account it will bring you to “MY EDUCATION CREDIT PROFILE” page where you can see hours you have accumulated, apply for CTA -Paid credits, and visit your classroom.

  1. These two lines display the hours accumulated in the current period from watching sessions in the CTA Virtual Pass to Online Learning and hours accumulated from attending eligible in-person CTA Conferences.
  2. Hours available for CTA-Paid: 2024-2025 University Credit Program* – This line is the sum of the above two lines up to the eligible number of hours available for CTA-Paid Credits. Each period has a maximum of 90 hours that can be earned and applied towards CTA-paid credits.
  3. Hours Applied and Approved – When you complete and submit an application to claim your university credits and CSU Chico has approved your application, then you will see your accumulated hours that have been applied toward university credits here.
  4. Hours Applied (Pending Approval) – Every time you submit an application, you will see the applied hours post in this section. Once approved by CSU Chico, the hours will move from this section to the Hours Applied and Approved section.
  5. Remaining Hours to Apply – This section shows the available hours that can be used to claim credits. It is the sum of Hours Available minus Hours Applied and Approved minus Hours Applied (Pending Approval).
  6. Use these links to go to the Virtual Pass to Online Learning Classroom, browse the catalog and watch sessions. Click on Apply for CTA-Paid Credits to submit your application and claim your university unit. You must submit a new application each time you wish to claim one unit. Use the application to update your contact information as needed. You will receive an email to confirm that your application was submitted.
  7. Apply for Member-Paid Credits – Click this button to submit your application for your Member-Paid Credits. This button will only appear if you have sufficient hours for additional credits. This will take you directly to the application to claim your credit. You will receive an email with a payment link to pay for your credit.
  8. This section indicates if a payment link has been sent to you and indicates that these hours are pending approval by CSU Chico.

The application process for the CTA University Credit Program has been updated and simplified. Follow the steps below to submit an application.

  1. Click My Education Credit Profile as seen on step 4 on www.CTA.org/Credit and login using your CTA login. Click here for help with logging in.
  2. Once logged in, My Education Credit Profile displays your credit hours for the current period.
  3. Once you have at least 15 hours available, you may claim a university credit by clicking on the Apply for CTA-Paid Credits link.
  4. Complete the application, agree to the terms and click Submit. You must complete a new application for each credit you are claiming. Your credit profile will be updated each time you submit a completed application.
  5. You will receive a confirmation email with additional information from CSU Chico.
  6. After you apply for all the available CTA-Paid Credits, you will see an option to apply for additional Member-Paid Credits, if available. Click on Apply for Member-Paid Credits. You will be sent a payment link upon completion of the application to pay for the credits. Member-Paid Credits must be paid before the end of the period.

Note: You must complete an application for each credit you are claiming.

There will be no late submissions accepted past the deadlines

Once you complete information for applying for CTA paid credits your “My Education Credit Profile will be updated showing Hours applied (pending approval) and any remaining hours you have left that will go towards your next units.

  • The tab labeled “View my Classroom” will take you to your classroom page where you can see detailed course history of the course you have taken, print certificates , and go to your classroom page.

This is what the certificate looks like. You can print or save to a folder on your computer for your records. You do not need to submit these when applying for credit through CSU Chico.

This shows how many hours you have currently completed. Once you get to 15 hours you can submit for one credit through CSU Chico.

Re-Watching Courses for Credit?

No. Courses cannot be re-watched to earn units.

Not sure if you have already taken the course?

There will be a green check mark next to the title of the course after clicking on “Register Now” or “Add to Basket”. This green check mark indicates that you have already completed and submitted the course previously. You will need to complete courses that you have not yet completed previously for the hours to be counted towards 2024-2025 credit.

EGUSD ECR & Proof of Completion

3 weeks after the semester ends you can view your unofficial transcript through Chico State and upload it as your proof of completing the course. Make sure “CR” is on the transcript under grade for the courses you completed before submitting through PL essentials.

If you would like an official transcript, order the transcript before the June 15 or October 1st HR deadline for salary advancement and upload/attach to ECR in PL Essentials.

Grades and transcripts are typically available 3 weeks after the grading deadline for the term: Once grades have posted, you can order your official transcripts online through the Transcript Request webpage. You can also log into your CSU Chico portal to view unofficial transcripts.For more information about when transcripts are available please visit the Student Records & Registration website.

Please note that professional development units (800-level courses) will reflect as units attempted but not earned on your official transcript. This is because 800-level courses do not apply to degree requirements. A grade of CR on the transcript indicates successful completion of the units.

This email confirms that we have received your request, and you have been successfully enrolled in your unit. Please note that you will receive a separate confirmation email for each unit you are enrolled in. As a reminder, 15 hours of professional growth are required to earn 1 unit of professional development credit.

Account Activation

If this is your first Chico State course enrollment, please activate your student account. Please wait at least 24 hours after receiving this email before attempting to activate your account.��To activate your account, please visit the Account Center activation page and enter your date of birth and Chico State ID number XXXXXXXXX. The system will guide you through all of the steps needed to complete your account activation. After you have completed your account activation you will be able to access your student center where you will be able to view your current enrollment as well as obtain copies of your unofficial transcripts.

3 weeks after the end of the semester a “CR” will appear on any courses you completed under Grade section. Download your unofficial transcript and upload it to your ECR as your proof of completion.

After completing 15 hours and submitting for your first unit you will get an email from CSU Chico that confirms enrollment in course you submitted and has information about activating your student account through CSU Chico if this is your first course you have taken from CSU Chico. You will need to activate account to use portal to look at unofficial transcripts.

Steps for accessing Unofficial transcripts on CSU Chico Student Portal

  • Navigate to the Student Center. You can do this using the link in the Chico State Portal.
  • In the left sidebar, scroll to Student Records and click View Unofficial Transcript.
  • On this menu, you will see total credits, degrees, and programs.
  • Click View PDF in the top right corner to view a copy of your unofficial transcript.
  • To download the transcript, open the PDF and click the download icon in the top right.

EGUSD Salary Advancement Timelines and Deadlines

The salary credit system operates on a July 1-June 30 annual calendar. Units/hours can be

accrued all year long. There are two opportunities between June 15 and October 1 of a

given year to receive salary advancement:

• October 2 – June 15

Any units/hours completed and submitted during this time period will be processed

for pay advancement for the July 31st pay warrant.

• June 16 – October 1

Any units/hours completed and submitted during this time period will be processed

for pay advancement for the November 30th pay warrant.

The absolute deadline for submission of completed units for advancement is October 1 by

4:30 p.m. by submitting proof of completion to your approved ECR in PL Essentials. (If October 1 falls on a weekend,submission of completed units is due on the Friday before.) If the October 1 deadline is

missed, the next opportunity for salary advancement is the following July.
