About Aaron DeLane - JMS Principal - adelane@lewistonschools.net

• Since 2003, I’ve worked in Kuwait, China, Germany, and India. I’ve worked in a variety of roles from grade 3 to grade 12.
• My mother is a teacher in Egypt. She has taught overseas for as long as I have! My father is retired (used to work at Potlatch). My sister served in Iraq and Afghanistan as Combat Medic now works as a nurse in Boston, Massachusetts.
• I’m married with two boys. Atticus and Augustin. They both go to school at McSorley. My wife is Emma and she is also a teacher. I’m happy to be back in Lewiston.

About Quinn Aldous - JMS Middle School Assistant Principal

I have a beautiful wife (Anna) and 3 terrific kids, Jace, Kaden and McKylee. I have been married 30 years. I grew up in Salmon, Idaho. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Idaho State University, and my Masters Degree from THE… University of Idaho. I coached college football at the University of Montana and Idaho State University for 5 years. I have been a teacher for 24 years. My first teaching job was in Idaho City, Idaho where I taught History, PE, Health, and Driver’s Ed. I coached Varsity Boys Basketball, Varsity Football, and 8th grade Girls Basketball. I took a job in Aberdeen, Idaho where I taught History, Government, Pe, Health, Boys Varsity Basketball Coach, Varsity Football and I was the District Athletic Director. I have been the Assistant Principal at Jenifer Middle School for the last 13 years. I love spending time with my family #1, sports, hiking, fishing, traveling, hunting, reading and music. I am always looking for a new adventure!!!!

• Born and raised in the LC Valley. Moved to Boise for college and stayed for 7 years before returning back to Lewiston.
• I taught 4th-6th grade at McSorley for 13 years,then at Camelot for 6 years. This is my 3rd year at Jenifer Middle school- Year 22 of teaching.
• I have 2 kids, Sydney (20) and Wes (16) 10th grade at LHS, also 3 bonus kids that are all married,and 3 grandbabies!
• My husband and I LOVE to travel, watch Wes play sports and visit family.
• Last summer I traveled to Europe! Italy and Greece. It was a fantastic adventure!
• This year I went to Canada, Montana and the Oregon Coast.
• My daughter is in the US Navy,she is currently stationed in Virginia.
• We have a lot animals and we’re active with 4-H. (turtle, dog, 2 cats, 2 goats, lots of cows)

I was born in Casa Grande, Arizona, but I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life!

I started my teaching career in Meridian, Idaho, then moved back home after four years. I’ve taught for 27 wonderful years!

I love to play guitar, go camping, spend time with my family, and coach and watch football.

I have a beautiful wife and 5 wonderful children. Three kids–all sons– are grown and into their own careers. Two more are at home–a son and a daughter, along with 4 cats.

• I was born and raised in Moscow, ID and many of the small towns surrounding it.
• I attended the University of Idaho for my Bachelor’s in History (2010) and Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction (2022).
• My husband’s name is Zach. We moved to Lewiston two years ago (on the first day of school, actually!) and love it. So does my adorable fish, Mr. Freckles.
• In my free time I enjoy cooking, yoga, gardening, reading, watching football, and scrapbooking/crafting. I can sometimes be seen rollerblading or biking, though not very gracefully.
• This is my 3rd year at Jenifer and I absolutely love teaching middle schoolers. I am so excited to meet my students and the adults supporting them!

Introductory Physical Science (IPS)

This is my 29th year of teaching. I graduated from Clarkfork High School (home of the mighty Wampus Cats) and the University of Idaho. GO VANDALS!! I have also been coaching football, basketball and track for over 29 years.

I have been married to my, wife Shelly, for 30 years. We have 3 sons, two of whom are attending the University of Idaho. Two weeks ago, we moved our oldest to Philly to attend the Temple University for Grad. School.

I am always cheering on the Denver Broncos, THE University of Vandals and of course the Lewiston Bengals!!!

As for hobbies, I enjoy following them in all their activities, from my oldest performing in Operas (the latest of which was ‘The Magic Flute’, in Vienna Austria) to my younger 2 performing in the University of Idaho Marching band and coaching them through the years.

I am really excited for upcoming year and exploring science with you!

Lindsay Falkenstein - 8th Grade East Team Math

This will be my 21st year of teaching 8th grade math, 18 of those here at Jenifer.

A little about my family… It has continued to grow exponentially. Most of my kiddos are grown and out on their own. I have 2 daughters of my own and 2 more bonus daughters. Also, with the addition of my fiance, I have gained 7 more kids, and 8 grandchildren, soon to be 9 grandchildren.

I am also a magnet for rescue animals. I currently have 2 dogs and 1 cat that I have adopted.

When I find free time, you will find me on the ski slopes during the winter or on a beach, in the river or in the mountains during the summer. I love the outdoors and look for every opportunity to enjoy it. I also love to travel and take every opportunity to do so. Feel free to ask me where I have traveled to. The list continues to grow!

Toni Dufour-Harrich - 8th East Team Language Arts

I have been a teacher in the Lewiston School District since 1989 and this will be my last year teaching. I will be retiring at the end of this school year. I still love teaching and look forward to having a great year!!

My husband and I have 3 children. Our son, Sam, is 28 and is an attorney. Sam’s wife (my daughter-in-law, Jasmine) is an ICU nurse at Tristate. Our oldest daughter, Sydney, is 24 and is a P.E. teacher at Post Falls Middle School. Our youngest daughter, Skylar, is 18 and is a recent high school graduate.

I love animals! We have 3 dogs and 2 cats-all are rescue animals. My favorite place to vacation with my family is the Oregon coast.

I am looking forward to this school year and getting to know all of you.

• My wife is a 1st grade teacher in Clarkston. We've been married for 19 years.
• I have two daughters, ages 9 and and 13.

I was born and raised in Lewiston - attended McSorley, Jenifer & LHS.

I taught Algebra for 6 years and this year will be year 2 teaching 8th Grade Math.

My husband Eric and I have 3 kids together. Meigen is almost 22 and lives in Hawaii with her boyfriend, Alex. Easten is 18 and just started attending BSU in Boise. Dominic is 17 and attends LHS. We have 2 huskies also, named Akira and Kavik.

I love to travel, my husband and I just went to London, Rome and Athens for our 20 year anniversary! I also enjoy reading, paddleboarding and playing games.

• I was born and raised in Conway, Arkansas.
• I taught in Arkansas for two years and then taught in Seattle for two years. I took a four-year break working for a local engineering firm. This is my third year teaching at JMS.
• I like writing, tabletop role playing games, board games, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Star Wars. I have recently been geeking out over nerf blasters.
• My wife (Emily) and I met working in Glacier National Park and have been married for 10 years. We have a son, Forest (4 years old), and a daughter, Luella �(2 ½ years old).

• I’m from Yosemite NP, CA and earned my Special Education Teaching Certificate from CSU, Monterey Bay, along with an Autism Authorization Certificate.
• I’ve taught K-5, Self-Contained Setting, 2011-2012 in Scotts Valley, Ca. Worked with the Preschool Intervention Program in Yuba City, Ca from 2012-2015. Taught K-5, Self-Contained Setting, 2015-2018 in Paradise, Ca. I Have been teaching at Jenifer since 2018.
• My husband and I have been married for 9 years. His family is from Kamiah but now only live 3 blocks away from us here in Lewiston.
• My mom and step dad live 5 blocks away in the other direction with my grandmother who is 92 years old. We are fortunate enough to have this village to help raise our 3 year old daughter, Raeya. We also have 2 dogs, Gaia and Half Pint.
• During the summer months you can find us in the woods or on the waters while spending time with our family and friends. Winter months are met with family time and skiing on local mountains. I also enjoy yoga, cooking, learning, and watching kids grow.

I grew up right here in Idaho along the Salmon River at White Bird.

I love camping, boating and spending time with my family. Jeff and I have seven amazing humans; 5 girls and 2 boys. They range in ages from 24 - 7 years old.

I have been teaching for 10 years. I graduated from LCSC, and WGU. Next stop… EWU this fall. I am passionate about education in all its forms.

I am an author and songwriter. My book is with currently being reviewed by my publisher. Eeeik! I am really excited !

About Mrs. McLean�JMS Band and Choir

• This will be my 11th year teaching, and my 5th at Jenifer Middle School.
• I am a flute player, but also play the guitar, piano, and ukulele in my spare time.
• I studied Music and English education at California State University: Dominguez Hills and completed my teaching certificate at LCSC.
• I have been married for 10 years and have two children. Alivia is 8 and will be starting 3rd grade. Benji is 6 and is going into 1st grade this year.
• My hobbies include listening to and playing music (surprise!), hiking/camping/backpacking, reading, watching soccer, and musical theatre.
• I really love my job. I love middle school and I basically just get to make music with cool kids all day.

Cindy Brotnov

I was born in Spokane, WA, but my school years were spent in

Elk River, Idaho. Go Bobcats!!

This is my 22nd year teaching and all have been at Jenifer.

I love to camp and fish, so I spend a lot of time on the North Fork

of the Clearwater River and Grand Ronde. I also love to knit and create

things for my family, particularly my grandchildren. My husband and I met in college

and just recently celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary. I have three

daughters (Emily, Abigail, and Clara) and three grandchildren (Forest, Luella, and Harrison).

I live on a small hobby farm with my husband along with two horses (Pickens & Splash), one

dog (Jake), and one cat (Stella).

Kevin Maurer- PE/Health

• Born and raised in Lewiston
• I received a baseball scholarship to Walla Walla community college out of high school and currently sit 3rd all in single season hits. I transferred to University of Idaho where I finished out my degree.
• This will be my 1st year at Jenifer. I taught physical education at Mcsorley and Whitman last year.
• My favorite Teams: Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, North Carolina Tarheels.
• My wife and I have one son(Calvin) who is 6 and can’t forget our dog (Griffey)

Heather Ohrtman

I grew up in Lewiston, and went away for college in Texas. After college I returned to Lewiston to be close to my family.

I started out subbing in Lewiston. After a couple of years of that, I commuted to Kamiah and taught there for two years. I’ve been at Jenifer full time since 2004. During those years I’ve taught Spanish, English, Graphic Design, World Cultures and Family Consumer Sciences.

I love to cook, sew, read, garden and ride carousels. My favorite thing to sew is costumes. Although I mostly sew Renaissance costumes for festivals, my spirit week outfits can be a little wild.

I am bio-mom to Niesha, Drake and Patrick. Niesha has three children James, Scarlett and Aspen. We have two large dogs, 8 koi fish, a beta that lives on the piano (Piano Fish), and a tank full of other fish. I also have 5 amazing bonus kids, so family time can get a little crazy at our house.

• This is my 6th year, in my dream job, as being the art teacher at Jenifer! This is my 21st year as a teacher. Before teaching here I taught first and second grade at McSorley.
• I grew up in Lewiston and took Art in the same class that I teach in!
• My husband’s name is Steven. I have a daughter in 11th grade at
• LHS, named Amelie. I have a daughter in 8th grade, here at Jenifer, named Zoey.
• I LOVE to watercolor paint, music, to camp, to travel, and ART!
• I also love animals! I have 2 dogs, 7 chickens, and 18 fish, a sea urchin and a shrimp.

I enjoy the outdoors, especially camping and floating the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River.

Bob Wicks - Orchestra Teacher

I was born in Clarkston, WA, but have lived in Lewiston ever since.

I attended the University of Idaho in Moscow for college and have been teaching for 22yrs, in different Lewiston elementary schools mostly at McGhee and Whitman. I began teaching Orchestra at Jenifer Middle School in 2020.

The past three summers I have gotten to go to Washington DC and meet with our Idaho Senators and Representatives.

I like to run, read, play piano, and spend time with my kids.

I have four kids; one in 12th, 9th, 7th and 5th grades. They all play different sports and instruments.

• I was born in Marion, Ohio, but was raised in Moscow, Idaho and attended and received my music education degree from the University of Idaho.
• I have taught for the Lewiston School District for 24 years, at McSorley and Whitman Elementary for the majority of those years. This will be my 3rd year teaching 6th grade choir at Jenifer.
• I am married and just celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary. I have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
• I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, kayaking, anything in the sun, and of course singing!

• I grew up in Troy, Idaho. Graduated in 1998.
• I received a basketball scholarship to Blue Mountain Community College where I played for two years. I then transferred to Boise State University and finally finished my degree at the University of Idaho.
• I started my teaching career in 2003 at Vallivue High School in Caldwell. In 2011, I got a new job at Kendrick High School where I taught Business Education and coached Varsity football, basketball, and softball for 12 Years
• I have a 10 year old daughter who loves to play basketball and softball.
• Playing around in the woods and on the water are some of my favorite past times along with playing golf.
• This will be my 21st year in Education.

I have been the Gifted and Talented facilitator for the past four years in multiple different buildings (Jenifer, Sacajawea, Whitman). This school year I get to continue facilitating the GT program in during the exploratory/elective hours of the school day!

I love spending time with my family and being outdoors.

My husband’s name is Peter, and we have 4-year-old twins. Emerson is our girl and Milo is our boy. We have a dog, Wally, and two cats named Odin and August.

Candace Kadau

I was born in Billings, Montana and grew up in Wamego, KS. After graduating college (Kansas State University), I met my future husband, Ted in 1992.

It has been a whirlwind adventure ever since. We have a son, Garrison, who is 29, a drummer, works for WSU and lives in Pullman.

My spare time is spent traveling, boating, walking, and spending lots of time with friends and family. While out and about I enjoy people-watching, tasting new foods, and meeting new people.

I was a sub for Lewiston schools for 5 years before starting my job as the Jenifer Intervention Person Extraordinaire - this is year 14 for me! I am also a coach for Girls’ JV volleyball & basketball, and also Boys’ track.

6th Grade

Born and raised in Lewiston and graduated LHS in 2000. I have four kids ages 21, 19, 15 and 13. My youngest is a 8th grader here at Jenifer. This is also my 8th year here at Jenifer as an IA.

I enjoy being outside, hiking, camping, paddleboarding and traveling. This year my kids and I traveled to Mt. Rushmore, Rocky Mountain, Great Sand Dunes, Grand Mesa, Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Great Basin National Parks. I am hoping to travel to Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Theodore Roosevelt and Badlands National Park next year.

• Went to LCSC and Walla Walla Community College. Graduate in 2021.
• This is my 3rd year at Jenifer as an Skilled IA.
• I am the Head Cheer Coach and this is my 4rd year coaching!
• I live with my husband and our two dogs Izzy and Dizzy in Clarkston.
• I enjoy reading, watching football (Cincinnati Bengals), and being with family and friends.

• I graduated from U of I last spring with my B.S. in Psychology. This fall I will begin the process of getting my Masters degree to teach english.
