Course Storyboard Template

Template v.3.1 – Storyline, Lectora, Flash

2 of 22

The slide title is located at the top of the screen.

The primary area of the slide stage includes the content for the slide. This is a representation of how the slide will look once it’s been developed. Please note, this isn’t the final product. All images, shapes and other content will be refined during the actual course development.

The area to left of the stage will include any additional items not shown in the content area that are required for the course. This includes items such as a state change or samples of additional images.

The notes section of the screen will include the narration and transcript, if needed. It will also include any content such as on-screen text, activity feedback or assessment items.

The yellow cues on the screen are animation triggers. They let the developer know the order the items on the screen should appear.

Notes directed toward you, the client, about the storyboard are located as part of the Developer Notes and are called out in red font color. This may include questions, thoughts or suggestions about the course.

QUESTION FOR CLIENT: If you would prefer to have a different character for the manager, let us know. We have a library of images you can select from. We recommend using Julie as the manager character, but will accommodate your decision.

All notes for the course developer are included in the right side of the slide.

Functionality of the slide is described first. This section will tell you, and the developer, about how the course will function while the learner is on the page. It includes the details of what should happen on the slide and in what order.

After the functionality notes, you will see details included about the images and/or media that need to be included as well as the location they can find them when the course is ready to be developed.

If the course has any special navigation requirements, this will be included in this section as well. For example, if the course has a page that is “locked down”, this information will be located in the developer notes so they can make the appropriate adjustments to the course.

Our network supports the common languages: C++, C#, and Cobol.

.NET Framework is a virtual machine that assists with compilation, conversion, and execution of code.

Managed Code runs inside the CLR and needs the .NET Framework.

Unmanaged Code does not need CLR or the framework to execute.

The garbage collector releases unused code lying in memory.
