VISION BOARD

2 of 12

What is design aesthetic?

  • Design is all about solving problems.
    • How to present information.
    • How to convey an idea through a product.
    • How to help someone navigate a website.
    • How to grab the attention of a buyer.
  • When a design is aesthetically pleasing it makes it appealing to the consumer as well as functional, both pieces are equally important.

What is your design aesthetic?

  • Start thinking about your aesthetics and how that can fit into design.
  • What products are you attracted to? Why?
  • What stores do you enjoy being in? Why?
  • What websites catch your attention? Why?
  • Also think about your likes and dislikes with the ELEMENTS OF DESIGN.

Design

  • Start by looking up mood board templates on Canva.
  • These will be BASES for your design, but you need to alter them enough to make it your own.
  • You can change colors, add elements, take them away, add different font styles, and more.

Cover Sheet

  • Using images you find online or personal photos, create a cover sheet for your vision board pack.
  • The cover sheet must include a title, showcasing the font you chose to align with your design aesthetic.
  • Your title can be your name, project name, or even a hypothetical design company.
  • You can add addition text or a secondary headline if you choose.

Second Page

  • On the second page you must include at least 3 colors and adjectives that reflect your aesthetic.
  • Your text should be in the font you have selected.
  • TIP: Use no more than 3 different fonts, instead try different styles under your selected font (bold, italic, and similar).
  • You can add images to help create focal points and to support your colors and text.
