What is the A & I Program?

  • The use of A&I funds is restricted and can only be for things like those listed below:
    • Reduce the disparities in academic achievement among all students
    • Reduce the disparities in equitable access to effective teachers, including teachers of color
    • Increase racial and economic integration

A & I Program Goals (2024-26)

Goal #1: Decrease racial disparities for Black and Hispanic students in enrollment for advanced courses.

Goal #2: Improve graduation rates for Black and Hispanic students through consistent attendance and passing rates.

  • Black 67% (22-23) - 75% (25-26)
  • Hispanic 64% (22-23) - 75% (25-26)

Goal #3: Improve family engagement for our East African and Hispanic students.

Goal #4: Increase teachers of color from 3% to 4% (25-26).

Goal #5: Increase in student comfort level (Collab Goal).

  • Equity Supervisor
  • Equity Specialists (3 FTE)
  • Cultural Family Liaisons (10 FTE - split between SPED/A&I)
  • AVID program (grades 7-12) - split between A&I/buildings
    • Teachers/Tutors - expanded sections
  • Young Scholars program (grades K-5)/summer camp - split between A&I/buildings
  • Check & Connect, Caring & Committed Conversations, Affinity Groups & Equity Summit
