2/24/2022 SPAAR Meeting with President Sams. Initial charge to develop strategic planning process from President Sams.

3/17/2022 Committee reviewed the following strategic planning models: Rensselaer Plan, Hanover College Strategic Planning Best Practices, Society for College and University Planning, and Tom D. shared Booz Allen/OW strategic planning process highlights.

4/7/2022 Committee reviewed Planning and Budget Committee structure and revisited the charge and objectives of the SPAAR sub-committee. Runi M. summarized Hanover, Cleveland State and Hinton materials.

4/2022 Tom D. drafted Strategic Planning Roadmap.

 

4/26/2022 Finalized charge. Committee agreed to intergrade Booz Allen/OW 2009 process with Hinton strategies. Led by Runi M., Lorenz N. and Tom D. Initiated Hanover Environmental Scan Lisandra R.

 

6/24 Committee reviewed SWOT Analysis of Strategic Plan 2018-2023 completed Renu B. Roger M. Monica C., consultation with Tom D. Recommendations of strategic plan subcommittees and workshop format were proposed for discussion. Tom D.

 

7/6/2022 Committee reviewed the proposed timeline. Tom D. led discussion of three proposed workshops and the development of a Steering Committee.

7/20/2022 Committee revised the proposed timeline. Committee continued discussion on size and makeup of sub committees. Discussed mission vision guiding principles and SWOT as well as internal scan. Noted Faulty return August 15.

 

8/3/2022 Committee reviewed June 24, July 6 and July 20 meeting activities. Summary of summer work. Committee reviewed finalized model. Tom will present to Cabinet.

10/5/2022 Jo-Ann R. presented proposal on Visioning Workshop. Established date of October 31, 2022 facilitated by Meryl Moritz. Update on Hanover ability to survey campus community Lisandra R. Committee discussed sub-committees: Student Growth and Success, Academic Directions and Opportunities, Campus Operations and Efficiency, Revenue Stabilization and Enrollment. Committee discussed workshop size. If limited to 50 participates, Renu, Runi Shanthi develop metric regarding participation from faculty staff, and students.

10//31/2022 Visioning Workshop canceled. Campus wide message sent to faculty, staff, students regarding Visioning Workshop 26 RSVP’s. Canceled event.

10/3/2022 Committee discussed strategies to engage more faculty, staff, and students about Strategic Planning and the Visioning Workshop. Committee agreed to meet with Meryl Moritz to discuss next steps.

11/11/ Committee met with Meryl Mortiz to plan Visioning Workshop for the Spring when faculty and students return. Committee agree to create video promotions and host orientation session for registered participants.

12/7 Committee discussed adding another category related to Scholarship and Innovation recommended by President Sams. The Committee discussed the recommendation and added Innovation, Research, and Creative Inquiry to the framework.

2/10/2023 Visioning Workshop facilitated by Meryl Mortiz. 77 RSVP’s. Group developed proposed vision statements. Top four (4) statements will be shared with the college community in Vision Cascade Session.
