Why Master Recommended skills?

As you can see in the graphics, Students with A’s in my class historically spend from 40 minutes to an hour each week working on Khan Academy skills that directly relate to the assessment for each unit.

Conclusion: Students averaging 30 minutes each week while mastering at least 30% of the recommendations will receive an A in this class! (30/30)

The First Step

To Mastering Khan

Go to Khan Academy.

(I recommend you keep Khan academy open 24/7)

The Second Step

To Mastering Khan

Go to your Assignments. These assignments show the “Preview” due date and if you have attempted them or not. If you have, it shows your score rather than the “start button”. Complete the assignments until you can’t get any wrong. Even if you can’t get 100%, 75% is enough to level them up in Mastery Challenges.

The Third Step

To Mastering Khan

Once you have 75% or 100% on an assignment, you can go to Mastery Challenges. It should be in Courses. All you need to do is click on your course and it will be right there on the top right. Just click “Get started”.

  • 75% on an assignment gives that skill “Familiar” on Mastery Challenges
  • 100% on an assignment gives that skill “Proficiency”

Doing The Mastery Challenges

Mastery Challenges will help your percentage of mastery number and help you level up and improve your skills. Try and get 100% on the Mastery Challenges in order to master more skills and move on. Do Mastery Challenges until there are no more for you to do. More will show up in 8 hours.

The Fifth Step

After you have completed your Mastery Challenges, you can then work on any skills that you want to on your Course page or other grades. Unit quizzes and tests are recommended. You can master skills by scoring correct answers on the Unit Tests as well! You can also simply work on other course work.

You find the quizzes and tests on your Course page. Open the section we are learning and find a quiz you want to take.
