P3 SDL for ML

1. Learners at the centre

Activities have been designed by the teachers to foster an interest in learning and encourage self-learning in students. At the end of the lesson, the students are more confident to speak in Standard Malay about their ambitions. In addition, they also have a better understanding of the nature of the job.

2. Learning is actively constructed, individually and socially

through Padlet, EducaPlay, YouTube and PPT slides.

P3 SDL for ML

Teachers introduce examples of some jobs through e-book applications, EducaPlay and videos. The students learn about the types of jobs independently at home. They also answer job-related questions based on EducaPlay on Padlet.

3. Learning is social and emotional in nature

As a follow-up activity, students are required to ask their parents questions about their jobs. Students also seek information about their ambitions with the guidance of their parents.

The students sit in groups and discuss their ideals. Students share information in their groups.

4. Assessment as integral to learning

As an exit ticket, the students make a self-evaluation about the activities that have been carried out. They also recorded their reflections and expressed their opinions about the activities carried out throughout the Self-Learning Day. All students agreed that they are more confident to speak using Malay. They also suggested some other topics that could be done in the future.

5. Meaningful learning and authentic learning

Pupils present their work in various forms such as show and tell, draw the work and talk about it, produce PPT slides and video recordings.
