What is Army JROTC

The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) is a program that aims to motivate young people to become better citizens. It's a character development and citizenship program that's offered in public and private high schools, and military institutions.

*THERE IS NO CHARGE TO PARTICIPATE

*NOT A PART OF MILITARY RECRUITMENT

*A FUN AND EXCITING PROGRAM

JROTC, PE, Drivers Ed & Health:

  • Will not interfere with Health or Driver Ed

  • Serves as an alternative for PE Class

Summer Camp

When: Held yearly in June

Duration: Four days and three nights

JROTC Classes: An Average Week

  • Classroom, covering curriculum:
    • Monday - Thursday (Uniform is worn every Wednesday)
    • Taught Interactively
    • Will also include development of public speaking skills, using student current events presentations (four presentations per semester)
  • Physical Training (PT):
    • Every Friday (unless it is a non-attendance day)
    • Team building sports
    • “Cadet Challenge” (Calisthenics, flexibility & running up to 1 mile) Conducted bi-annually
  • Drill & Ceremony/Uniform inspection:
    • Drill & Ceremony will be held 2-3 times weekly from 6:45 am - 7:30 am.
    • Uniform inspection will be conducted weekly on Wednesday
    • The cadet leadership will conduct all uniform inspections
