Recognizing Chumash Land
We acknowledge the Chumash people, who are the traditional custodians of this land. We would also like to pay respect to Elders both past and present, as well as other Indigenous people present. We are proud to continue their tradition of coming together and growing as a community.

Research Spotlight Interview with a Climate Educator
Other questions like:
What do you do when it can get sad learning about the earth?
Estefanía said that she talks to younger students who inspire her when she gets sad because it inspires her!
Examples of some questions we asked were:
What is a climate educator? Do you use cool gadgets to teach about nature?
Is spearfishing safe?
How do you stay safe in the ocean?
After the interview we learned that she spearfishes, uses gadgets to travel in the ocean and speaks 4 languages!
We interviewed Estefanía Pihen a climate educator, who teaches people about nature and how to take care of it.

Research
Our Questions:
- How does food nourish our bodies?
- How does food help us relate to others?
- Can food make us perform better at school/life?

Conclusion
All in all, our time at UCSB Club has taught us that food plays a major role in everything we do. Food helps us socialize, gives us energy, and can boost our mood. After our research, we have more questions now about how we can improve the food we eat at elementary schools and where our foods get sourced from.
