• Pyle offers:

Spanish, French and Chinese (Chinese contingent upon enrollment and staffing)

​

Note: 8th graders may not enroll in Chinese 1

All World Language classes at Pyle are high school courses for high school credit & will appear on the student’s high school transcript.

Grades that improve a student’s HS GPA will automatically be included in the HS GPA. Grades that lower a student’s HS GPA will automatically be excluded from the HS GPA.

WL Courses at Whitman

*Chinese 3 may be offered at Whitman in 2026-2027.

*Whitman offers Japanese 1 to 8^th graders during 1^st period (Contingent on enrollment and staffing)

Can my child test into a higher

level as an 8^th grade?

• 8^th graders may test into level 2 or 3
• If your child already has a strong foundation in a 2nd language, we recommend they start a 3^rd language.
