2021 COVID, SFS Virtual Meeting; new
Developing Country member category
2022 JASM in Grand Rapids, MI
2023 Joint Meeting in Brisbane, Australia
SFS membership gained 313 new members thru the 2021 virtual meeting, including free memberships, and welcomed the first Developing Country members. Most of that gain was reversed in 2022, and a severe decline has been seen in 2023 to date. In April, 43 members joined or renewed in 2022, vs. 91 in 2021 and 24 in 2023. Historically, dues have been close to half of SFS’s annual income, so the loss of members is of concern.
