BookshelfX is an innovative library management app. Powered by an AI companion, it offers personalized book recommendations based on user preferences, making it easier to discover new favorites. The app features a user-friendly interface with separate functionalities for users and librarians, allowing seamless book searches, borrowing, and returning processes. Whether you’re a casual reader or a library enthusiast, BookshelfX is your go-to app for all things books.
User Perspective
User Dashboard
The User Dashboard features two main sections: Featured Books and User’s Personal Favorites. If a book is currently rented, the color of its card will change to indicate its status. Additionally, when users hover over the card, a prompt will appear, informing them whether the book is rented, not available, or under review for return.
Featured Books
Showcases a curated collection of featured books selected by the librarian. Users can easily navigate through the collection using sorting and filtering options. The books are displayed with paginated rendering to enhance user experience and accessibility.
Category wise books
Showcases all available book categories. When a user clicks on any category, it displays the books within that specific category. As shown in the screenshot, also includes pagination to enhance accessibility and user experience.
All Books
Showcases all available books in the library, providing users with a comprehensive view of the library’s collection. The interface includes pagination to ensure easy navigation and accessibility, allowing users to browse through the entire collection efficiently.
My Favourite Books
a personalized collection where users can save and showcase their most cherished reads.
Rental history
Displays both active and closed rentals, organized by the rental date. It shows the books currently rented out as well as those that have been returned. This feature also provides users with the functionality to return their rentals directly through the system.
Settings
A user can set a new password for their account or re-edit their favourite categories for suggestion on dashboard.
Notification and user Account option
Notifies users about their rentals, including rental returns and any overdue items. It also provides users with the ability to access and review their account details, ensuring they stay informed about their rental status and history.
My account details
Displays detailed information about the user’s account, including rental history and personal details. It also provides an option for users to permanently delete their account, ensuring they have full control over their personal data.
Searching for books
Users can search for books using specified fields. To distinguish between the search parameter and the search input, a special character ‘/’ is used. This character helps the system determine what to search for in the database, ensuring accurate and efficient search results.

Book Reviews
A slider based book reviews provided here for each book and in case if the book doesn't have reviews "No Reviews Available at the moment, may be you will like it. Read and review it”
Checking out of book
To rent this book, type “RENTBOOK” in the designated field. Once entered, the “Submit” button will become available, allowing you to complete the rental process.

Librarian Dashboard
The librarian’s dashboard provides a snapshot of library operations, showcasing 279 total books, 20 users, and a clear comparison of available versus rented books. It includes visualizations like bar graphs and pie charts to display book categories and user preferences, helping the librarian manage inventory and user engagement efficiently.
Adding Books to library
Books can be added to the library in two ways: by importing them from Google or by manually entering each detail.
