Artist Statement

My concentration theme is Transformation. My artwork has always been influenced anime and manga. My art started typical; copying other people's art. Over time my work transformed into something that is my own art. As we grow up we transform and find ourselves and identify through the clothes we wear. My artwork is not only in my drawings, but in the clothing I design and sew. This allows me to transform myself.

My first piece is a regular girl, and the second piece is a girl being pressured to change herself. Piece three is a girl who is going through a transformation. Images 4-6 are girls who have transformed into cute cat girls. Images 7 and 9 are my own fantasy transformations. The girl in image 8 is experiencing pressure to transform back into what she was before.

Images 10-12 I took it a step further and went on to transform myself by designing and creating my own unique, theatrical dresses. Through this process I am able to become a different version of myself.
