If you click on the down arrow at the bottom left of your meeting, you can find the NUMBER and PIN to join the meeting via phone and the LINK to join the meeting via the web.

Mute and Unmute yourself during a meet.

You can also hit the SPACE bar to cut your microphone on and off.

Google Meet Functions: Managing Participants

Pin Button

You can pin a participant so that they are the main screen you see. By default, whoever is talking will pop up if no one is pinned.

Mute/Unmute

Teachers can mute a student if they are interrupting the session.

Hide Button

A teacher can hide a student’s screen from the rest of the group.

Remove Button

Student’s can be removed from a Google Meet using this button.

This is the GRID VIEW extension.

With grid view, you can see ALL participants on the screen at one time.

You also can change any of your grid view options by hovering your mouse over the grid at the top of your Google Meet window..

This is the NOD extension.

With Nod students can…

  • raise their hands to ask questions
  • give thumbs up and thumbs down feedback
  • use emojis to respond to teacher instruction and questions

REMEMBER:

This extension MUST be installed on both the teacher and student chromebooks.
