Adel DeSoto Minburn School District is comprised of the communities which give us our name – Adel, DeSoto, and Minburn – located in central Iowa. Conveniently situated just west of Des Moines, we have easy access to numerous activities and attractions, yet we are removed just enough to still enjoy the many benefits of small-town living. Our district currently consists of five attendance centers: ADM High School (9-12), ADM Middle School (7-8), DeSoto Intermediate (5-6), Meadow View Elementary (2-4), and Adel Elementary (PS-1), totaling 2,300 students district-wide.

We are committed to engaging ALL students in a challenging and supportive environment that ensures ALL students learn at high levels.

Our School:

Adel DeSoto Minburn High School is a fully-accredited, comprehensive public high school comprised of 684 students. In 2025 the graduating class was 165 students.

ADMHS is a Blue Ribbon School, offering a wide range of study opportunities, including:

  • 200+ course selections: including Advanced Placement, dual credit, honors, college preparatory, regular level, and special education;
  • Spanish and French world languages;
  • Fine Arts courses in drama, choir, band, and visual arts;
  • PLTW courses in Engineering and Biomedical Sciences;
  • Des Moines Area Community College off-campus and online classes;
  • 20+ non-athletic extracurricular activities

Faculty and Staff:

The total number of faculty and staff at ADM HS is 77; this includes 44 certified teachers, two administrators, three professional school counselors, one library media specialist, and two SRO’s.

  • Ranked #2 by US News as “Best High Schools: Des Moines Metro”, and #6 in State of Iowa (2025)
