Purpose of Reporting Student Progress

  • Communicate standards and learning targets being taught and how to support this process at home
  • Communicate student progress toward meeting the grade level standards and learning targets
  • Communicate student progress toward individual student goals
  • Clear communication on how students perform on assessments.
    • FAST assessment, writing assessment, common formative classroom assessments

Goals/Profile Sheet

  • Minimum of 3 times throughout the year
    • Fall, Winter, Spring
  • Information on how your child performed on assessments
  • Goals your child and teacher set together in the areas of literacy, math, writing, and behavior

Marks you may see on your child’s assessments, artifacts, etc.

Narratives

Narratives will include the following information:

  • Minimum of 3 times per year
  • Communicate students strengths, needs, and goals for all the domains we teach. (Academic, Social, Behavioral)
  • Narratives are based on the collective body of evidence we have to demonstrate rationale for how students are progressing on learning and mastering the identified priority standards.
  • Proficiency scales to help determine what student learning looks and sounds like at different levels of learning.
  • Personalized and focused on strengths, needs and goals.

End-of-Year Report Card

  • Marks based on priority standards in the areas of literacy and math
    • Science may also be reported on this document depending on the grade level
  • Marks we use to show progress
    • M Meets
    • P Progressing
    • AC Area of Concern
    • + Met Learning Target

  • Guidance for you and your child on what to work on for the coming year
  • Shared conversation between current teacher, families, and future teachers about strengths, needs, and goals
