Semester 2
Learning intentions
Semester 1
Learning Intentions
Geometría, posición y transformaciones.
- Use the properties of 3D shapes and the relationships between them to represent them and apply the area concept to derive the formula for the volume and calculate the surface area of triangular prisms and pyramids.
- Develop construction skills with geometric instruments, making midpoints of line segments, angle and line bisectors and the different types of triangles.
- On the coordinate grid, translate 2D shapes and points using vectors, reflect 2D shapes parallel to the x- or y-axis, or y = ± x, rotate 2D shapes using centre, direction, and angle of rotation; and enlarge shapes from a center using a positive integer scale factor.
Geometría y medida
- Describes a quadrilateral knowing the specific properties and identifies the lines of symmetry and rotational symmetry of a regular polygon.
- Use the pi (π) relationship to calculate the circumference, derive the formula and calculate the area of parallelograms and trapezia.
- Convert between miles and kilometers, and draw and measure bearings in different contexts.
- Explore and derive the rules relating to exterior angles of triangles and those relating to transversals on parallel lines to calculate missing angles using geometric vocabulary.
