MODULE OBJECTIVE

El objetivo del presente módulo, COMMUNICATIVE PRACTICE B1+, es el siguiente:

  • Trabajar aspectos comunicacionales a nivel intermedio (B1+) que permitan adquirir vocabulario, fluidez y mejorar las habilidades de escucha, discutiendo tópicos relevantes y poniendo en práctica la competencia idiomática de manera hablada.

⚙️PREFIXES

PREFIXES are groups of letter that are added to the beginning of a word to change its meaning.

Mis- (= do badly) - misunderstand, misbehave

Re- (= do again) - replace, rearrange,

In- (= not) - inactive, inconvenient

Over- (= too much) - overpriced, overspend, etc…

⚙️DEDUCTION AND SPECULATION

We use the following modal verbs (and others) to tell the listener how sure we are about something:

  • must - when you are very sure something is / Is not true (it must be an old painting…).
  • can’t - when you are very sure something is / is not true (it can’t be a window…).
  • might / could - when you are not sure something is / is not possible (they might be going out to hunt / they could be cooking something).
  • look + adjective - when something is / appears to be (it looks cold).
