Requiring the Academic Integrity Badge

UPEI has an Academic Integrity badge that can introduce students to general principles of academic honesty

However, laying out the specific expectations for your course will be important for your students to understand and succeed

You can use Moodle’s Restrict Access feature to require that students complete the academic integrity tutorial before accessing certain content or activities

On the settings for any section, resource, or activity in Moodle is the option to add an access restriction

From the list of options, select Badge

Select the UPEI Academic Integrity Badge from the dropdown

The eye button controls whether students who do not meet the restriction can see that they do not have access to the material or if the material is completely invisible to those students

This is what a student who does not meet the requirements will see if the eye icon is not pressed

With a slash through the eye, the material will be completely hidden from students who do not meet the requirements

Additionally you can set restrictions based on not meeting the criteria. For example you might add a link to the Academic Integrity Tutorial that only appears for students who do not yet have the badge
