gam·i·fi·ca·tion

/ˌɡāmifəˈkāSHən/

What are our operative goals during class time?

  • Students will be engaged in the origin language for as much time as possible

(while reading/ writing/ speaking or listening to it)

  • The higher percent of participates in each given moment - the better

  • Have fun - enjoy the time together

6 of 42

How could gamification help us to achieve those goals?

Games allow more than two players to play in each given moment - the whole class could pay at once.

The game format is familiar to the students from fun times - its inviting

And they don’t consider it to be hard work

During the game, they are being engaged with the target language

We are convinced. Games should be included in our lessons. Now what?

Step one:

Identify the goal of the game you wish to include:

  • Any game is designed to promote students skill. We need to ask ourselves -
  • What kind of mistakes are they currently making
  • Here is a questionnaire that might help you think about it.

We have created, shared, and filled out the Questionnaire - What next ?

A personal look

  • I recommend to fill it out after every unit test

And to see if the mistakes have changed or have lessened due to awareness

  • We can look at the mistakes as a class - and look to see if there is a common mistake to direct our future lessons accordingly

Presenting the game and its purpose or presenting the skill and what games support it ?

. אז מה משחקים ומה זה מקדם?

אני בחרתי לחלק את המשחקים לשלושה תחומים עיקריים -

  • הוראת אוצר מילים
  • נטיית פעלים
  • מבנה משפט/ שיחה/ תוכן.
