This goal is about ending poverty everywhere in the world. It means helping people have enough money to live, access to food, clean water, and a safe place to live. It also focuses on creating jobs and making sure everyone has the chance to improve their lives. The goal is to make the world a fairer place where no one has to live in extreme poverty.
Goal 1: No Poverty
KEY TARGETS
STATISTICS
In 2023, it's thought that about 94.6 million people in the countries of the European Union might be poor or not have the same chances as everyone else. This is still a problem, even though there are programs trying to make things better.
Imagine 5.5 million people living in homes where they don't have enough money, can't afford basic things, and the adults don't have steady jobs.
TRENDS POST-AGENDA
We work on Goal 1.It's about helping people who don't have enough money.Things are a little better, but it's still hard to make poverty much lower.Lots of people are still poor and don't have enough money.
-Changes and Challenges
Persistent Poverty:If someone is poor for a long time, it can be harder for them to get out of being poor.
Policy Effectiveness: Europe wanted to help over 20 million people escape poverty by 2020. They tried different plans, but it didn't really work. Instead of fewer people being poor, things stayed the same, or even got a little worse for some people.
Vulnerable Populations: Some people, like kids, single parents, and people who don't earn much money, have had a harder time and become poorer since 2015.
-Conclusion: People have been trying to stop poverty since the world made a plan called Agenda 2030 and Goal 1. But it's still a big problem. Numbers show that Europe might not reach Goal 1(No Poverty) by 2030. We need to keep working hard and find good ways to help everyone, so no one in Europe is poor.
