AF STEM Goals & Objectives

Goal: Increase the local STEM talent pool by exposing as many students and influencers as possible, including those underrepresented in STEM, to Air Force STEM expertise, technical facilities/equipment and STEM concepts through various local STEM outreach activities. Leverage research work assignments, fellowships and university grants

Objectives:

    • Institutionalize and Coordinate STEM Outreach throughout the Air Force
    • Leverage Industry, Schools, and other Government Agencies’ K-12 STEM Outreach Investments and Initiatives
    • Increase the Effectiveness of the Air Force Investment in K-12 STEM Outreach

StellarXplorers is an Air Force Association space system design competition that challenges teams of students to solve orbit planning, satellite component, and launch vehicle selection scenarios in a series of online rounds

Students use industry-specific STK software to perform complex analysis of ground, air, sea and space platforms
