SCANNING

WHEN ENTERING THE BUILDING, EVERYONE MUST GO THROUGH SCANNING!

YOU MUST PREPARE BEFORE GOING THROUGH SCANNING.

REMOVE METAL INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

BELTS

HAIR PINS

FAKE JEWELRY

NOT ALLOWED IN BUILDING:

GLASS, HOT BEVERAGES,

KNIVES/BOX CUTTERS/TWEEZERS, or any sharp objects

DRUGS or DRUG ACCESSORIES (including weed and tobacco)/LIGHTERS/MATCHES/CRUSHERS, etc.

SCANNING & ID CARDS

  • YOU WILL HAVE TO SCAN YOUR ID CARD (YOU WILL RECEIVE THEM SHORTLY).  ID CARDS MUST BE TURNED OVER TO AN AGENT or STAFF MEMBER WHEN ASKED!  THEY ARE PROPERTY OF THE DOE!  
  • IF YOU FORGET YOUR ID CARD HOME, YOU WILL HAVE TO KEY IN YOUR NINE DIGIT ID NUMBER.  YOU SHOULD MEMORIZE IT—IT WILL MAKE THINGS FASTER FOR YOU!
  • CELL PHONES ARE COLLECTED IN THE LOBBY PRIOR TO ENTERING.

PROGRAM CARDS/SCHEDULES

SCHOOL STARTS SEPTEMBER 7TH!  PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE BUILDING BEFORE 8:00 AM (7:45 AM) TO GET TO CLASSES ON TIME.

SCHEDULES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL OR CAN BE ACCESSED ONLINE VIA TeachHub→Student Documents (Student Accounts) OR via NYC Schools Account (Parent Accounts)

Students must have their schedule daily. If students have questions about their program, they can see their counselor in room 355.

MY GRADES ARE IMPORTANT

Each marking period is approximately 6 weeks. The final grade is,

at minimum, the average of marking periods 1, 2, and 3. At no point should a student receive a grade lower than the average of all three marking periods.

The teacher may, at their discretion, generate a grade higher than

the minimum of the average of the three marking periods if the student

did exemplary work. For example, MP 1 = 75, MP 2 = 65, MP 3 = 55, Final

Grade = 65.

REMEMBER–COLLEGES WILL SEE YOUR ENTIRE TRANSCRIPT!

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • All students have a lunch period daily.
  • STUDENTS WHO WANT TO GO TO THE LIBRARY, MUST GET A PASS BEFORE GOING INTO THE LIBRARY. STUDENTS MUST SHOW THEIR PASS AND ID CARD TO THE LIBRARIAN.
  • NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE BUILDING ONCE THEY HAVE SCANNED INTO SCHOOL UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN (YOU MAY NOT GO OUT FOR LUNCH).
  • STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR SCHOOL. BAHC follows the NYCDOE Dress Code: NYCDOE DRESS CODE GUIDELINES 
  • PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES MEET EVERY OTHER DAY.  STUDENTS CAN ONLY ENTER THE GYM DURING THEIR SCHEDULED CLASS.

  • EACH TEACHER WILL SPECIFY WHAT SPECIFIC SUPPLIES ARE NEEDED FOR CLASS.
  • STUDENTS WILL MOST LIKELY NEED THE FOLLOWING GENERAL SUPPLIES

        • SPIRAL NOTEBOOKS FOR EACH CLASS
        • BINDER WITH LOOSE LEAF PAPER & DIVIDERS
        • #2 PENCILS
        • PENS (Black or Blue Ink only)
        • CASE for PENS & PENCILS

  • STUDENTS MAY BE STOPPED AT ENTRY WITHOUT A BOOKBAG/NOTEBOOK.

  • NEED ANY SUPPLIES? — SEE MRS. MCNEAL, IN ROOM 449.  WE MAY HAVE WHAT YOU MAY NEED.
