What is Linear?

Linear is the tool you’ll use to plan and track your work.

• Every task, bug, or idea lives in Linear as an issue
• Related issues are grouped into projects (by goal) and cycles (by time)
• Everything is in one team: “Accelerator Series F26”

It’s one place to see what's being worked on, who's doing it, and what's next.

• An issue is a single piece of work (e.g. a task/bug/request)

Issues

• To create one, press “C” anywhere in Linear
• Every issue has:
• Title: a short clear description of the work
• Status: where it is in the process
• Assignee: who's responsible for it
• Priority: Urgent/High/Medium/Low/No priority
• Labels: tags for categorizing, e.g. [Bug, Feature, Design]
• Project: which project it belongs to

• A cycle is a fixed period of time for focusing on a set of issues

• At the start of a cycle, leads should choose which issues to work on
• Cycles start and end automatically on schedule
• Unfinished issues can roll over into the next cycle
• Projects vs. cycles:
• projects group work by what it's for
• cycles group work by when we're doing it
• an issue can belong to both

Project Leads, please go over what issues should be in the current cycle if not done already! Assign issues to the cycle accordingly.
