ELSA was founded in Vienna, Austria, on May 4th, 1981. During the times of the Iron Curtain, five students coming from Austria, Hungary, Poland and West Germany saw the need to promote international cooperation and mutual understanding among law students on both West and East Europe.

  • 1984: The First Office

The first international office of ELSA was established in Oslo, Norway.

  • 1992: The Adoption of the Philosophy Statement

The philosophy statement of ELSA was adopted in Brussels, Belgium, on October 12th, 1992. Since then, the association has been envisaging “a just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity.”

If you don’t respect it….

The CI Police will find you… 👀

In reality:

  • The Corporate Identity status around the Network will be checked by the MKT EIT
  • If you are not sure, it’s always better to ask
  • We will notify you we notice a violation being committed
    • In case of serious violations (such as the usage of ELSA International’s logo) -> you may be asked to take the post down

… so please respect the Brand Book!

How do we proceed with Open Calls?

40 of 51

Two options

Team structure

  1. We set the same date and time every month or two and have a MKT Open Call then

Team flexibility

  1. We organise “ad hoc” open Calls: = Announcing the possible dates, voting on the best one in our group chat and having a MKT Open Call then

Besides general Open Calls we can and will have:

  • Pre- and/or Post-ICM Open Calls
  • Promotion Open Calls (if we need to go over the promotion of a specific projects
  • Training/Workshop Open Calls

41 of 51

You choose!

Team structure: thumbs up

Team flexibility: thumbs down

September Important Dates

  • Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition: 8th of September
    • MKT Kit available!

  • John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition: 17th of September
    • MKT Kit will be ready soon!

  • Delegations: First Open Call on the 29th September
    • No MKT Kit but launch post will be shared with you in advance!

45 of 51

What do you think of having a Google Calendar for Promotion?

  • Updated regularly, with the content that you’ll need to share and the date
  • Usually, there’s also a MKT KIT there and the description for your post
  • Dates might change

46 of 51

We decided to use a Google Calendar to list posting dates (which may change). Each month, I’ll send you a reminder of what we plan to post, and once a date is confirmed, I’ll notify you and update the calendar accordingly! I will share the calendar with you as soon as it is ready!
