Grounds for the UAE Residency

To obtain a UAE Resident Visa,

several grounds may apply

in different situations.

Here are some of them:

1. Work:

If you receive a job offer

from the UAE company, you can apply

for the resident visa. The company must be UAE registered and it must submit a sponsorship application in your name.

2. Investment:

If you are investing in business in the UAE

or you are buying a real estate property

of the certain value, you may have the opportunity to get

the investor's residence permit.

3. Family:

If you have a close relative who is a UAE resident or a UAE citizen, they can apply for the resident visa for you. This can be a spouse, parent, or

a child.

4. Retirees:

The UAE offers a retiree program for those who want to live in the country. Certain terms and conditions, such as sufficient income and health insurance, apply to the retirees eligible for the resident visa.

5. Education:

If you are entering a UAE education institution, you may be eligible for a student resident visa. This will require confirmation from the institution as well as financial support.

The visa is automatically canceled if its holder is absent from the country for more than 6 months.

Investor Resident Visa Types

Investor Visa

  1. 1-2 years – for freelancers, students, employees in the UAE (for the term of the contract)
  2. 3 year Visa – upon acquisition of the real estate

property worth over USD 205,000

  1. 5 year Visa:

Self-employed and freelancers, whose annual income for the previous two years should be at least AED 360,000 (over USD 98,000). Such applicants must have a bachelor's degree or a relevant major.

Highly qualified specialists with a bachelor's degree and a salary of at least AED 15,000 per month (over USD 4,000)

Investors and partners of the companies that are engaged in the commercial activities in the UAE, upon confirmation of the amount of investment.

  1. 10 year Visa – upon acquisition of the real estate

property over USD 540,000

Investor Resident Visa Types

3-Year Resident Visa

  1. Available upon acquisition of the completed residential property worth at least USD 205,000, within Dubai.
  2. This visa will allow you to apply for the Emirates ID card, open a local bank account, and receive a local driver's license.
  3. You can submit your application along with the documents online through the DLD Vault website or using the Dubai REST application. Upon approval of your application, you will be requested to pay applicable fees at the Cube Center at the DLD main office.
  4. Obtaining such a visa will cost you from AED 15,000 (USD 4 100).
  5. This visa will remain valid as long as the property stays in your possession.

Investor Resident Visa Types

5-Year Green Visa

  1. Eligible applicants:

investors starting a business

freelancers

qualified specialists

  1. Green Visa is the opportunity:

to sponsor sons under 25, unmarried daughters and children with disabilities without age restrictions.

To stay in the UAE for 6 months after the cancellation or expiration of the residency permit.

  1. Green Visa eligibility for freelancers:

Permission for freelance activities from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation

Bachelor's degree

Confirmation of the annual income of at least AED 360,000 (USD 98,000).

Golden Visa

10-Year Resident Visa

  1. Acquisition of the real estate worth over USD 545,000

  • All assets acquired must be retained in

the applicant's possession for at least 3 years.

  1. A 10-Year Investor Visa allows its holders

to sponsor their family members, including children

regardless of their age, domestic workers,

as well as the counsellor and the CEO

  1. Golden Residence remains valid even if

you have been out of the country for more than 6 months.

  1. Golden Visa holders can also apply for the Esaad Card

which allows to benefit from the attractive discounts for goods and services of more than 7,000 brands in 92 countries of the world, outside UAE.

Investor Resident Visa Types

Application Submission

  1. Investor should apply to the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and provide:

passport

title document

copy of the current visa (if any)

  1. Then the department representatives provide the applicant with the reference letter, which is then forwarded to the Dubai police.
  2. Based on the reference letter, the applicant receives a Certificate of Good Conduct from the local police.
  3. Then, the investor must go to the Dubai Economic Department (DED) and apply for the Commercial License.
  4. After obtaining the license, the applicant must contact General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) and apply for the relevant resident visa.
