What is Smart Futures?

  • Smart Futures is a web-based system that allows students to create individualized career readiness paths and plans.

  • Students can explore different careers and the paths that help them get to the end goal.

  • There are also opportunities to build work skills and guidance for choosing the right post-secondary options.

  • You can invest as much or as little into the exploration process, but you will never regret making informed decisions about your future.

Please complete activities based on your grade level.

You may complete more Smart Futures activities than what are required, however, please be sure to complete the activities for your grade level at the very least.

If you are an 11th grader, be sure to complete all activities (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10,12,13) in order to meet the state requirement.

Contact your school counselor with any questions regarding the Smart Futures activities and program. Smart Futures is accessed through Clever or Google by going to the Smart Futures Login page https://www.smartfutures.org and using your Google login account.

  • Visit the Clearinghouse website and register this year if you are interested in playing a sport while in college.

  • Make sure to request your transcript to be sent to the National Clearinghouse Eligibility Center through Parchment by asking Mrs. Richardson to help you.

    • Think of short term goals as they relate to academics and career/post secondary planning. What do you want to accomplish by the holiday break, after the break???
    • Make goals for each area (academic, career, postsecondary, and personal)
    • Think of at least 3 long term goals (by the end of the school year) as they relate to the topics above.
    • Post these at home to help you get motivated and share them with your parents
    • Share them with your counselor so they can support you!
