Mapp v Ohio (1961)

• B: Police were looking for a fugitive in Mapp’s home. During search, found obscene publications.
• C: Was the evidence found illegally?
• D: 6-3 for Mapp.

New Jersey v T.L.O (1985)

• B: TLO accused of smoking. AP searched her purse and found: cigarettes, rolling papers, marijuana, pipe, money, list of people who owed her money.
• C: Was the evidence obtained legally?
• D: 6-3 for NJ. Changes S/S rules from probable cause to reasonableness.

California v Acevedo (1991)

• B: Pot was mailed from Hawaii to CA. Police followed it to Acevedo. He moved the bag from his house to the trunk of his car.
• C: Does location of possessions change S/S rules?
• D: Ruled for CA. Stated that belongings were on the search warrant though location had changed.
