1. Units of Temperature

1. Temperature is a measure of average energy.
2. Celsius °C
• Water freezes at 0 °C
• Water boils at 100 °C

C. The “degrees” of Celsius and Fahrenheit are different.

2. Absolute Zero & The Kelvin Scale

1. Absolute Zero is the lowest possible temperature (no energy).
2. The Kelvin Scale starts at absolute zero 0 K.
3. The “degrees” of Kelvin and Celsius are the same.
4. K = °C + 273.15
