Earlier this summer, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) put into effect a new requirement for all teacher preparation programs in the state.
The new requirement was an additional Teaching Performance Expectation (TPE):
TPE 7 – Effective Literacy Instruction for All Students.
We are in the process of implementing TPE 7 across our credential programs.

The primary role of a cooperating teacher is to purposefully take a student teacher on a journey that will cause them to develop capacity and confidence to make their own informed decisions about teaching and learning (Portner, 2003).
