Active Participation

Active Participation Benefits:�

  • One Academic Advising Session* (Per Academic Year)

*Exception: MESA juniors and seniors submit a MESAdvantage Student Participation Checklist

Those students meeting active participation in MESA may benefit from:

    • Letters of Recommendation
    • References
    • Opportunities to interact with industry
    • MESA Scholarships
    • Statewide Activities
  • Two Activities – (Per Academic Year)
    • MESA hosted activity
    • Or activity listed on MESAdvantage Student Participation Checklist

NOTICE

MESA students who:

    • fail to follow through on participation as described
    • do not show up for an event (per rsvp, registration, acceptance)
    • cancels attendance at events last minute

    • will jeopardize his/her participation in future activities and program membership.
    • You are responsible for updating your MESAdvantage Student Participation Checklist with MESA staff

Important: Students not actively engaged in the MESA program could be dropped at Director’s discretion.

The purpose of this policy is to outline and provide direction to students regarding their participation in MESA. Participation in the MESA is a privilege. Only a limited number of students are accepted into the program each year. There are no fees; only a commitment of involvement on your part. All services and events are created especially for you to excel. The more you participate, the greater the benefits you’ll reap. The benefits you receive will be based on your participation in the program.
