The Birth of Mary

  • The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the day on which we celebrate Mary’s birthday.
  • It is celebrated each year on September 8th. It is celebrated on this date as it is exactly nine months from the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
  • Christians from the Orthodox church celebrate it on January 7th.

Feast Day

  • The celebration of Mary’s birthday makes her feast day different to that of the feast days for other saints. Normally, we celebrate their feast days on the day they died. However, we celebrate Mary’s on the day she was born.

Hail Mary, full of grace

The Lord is with you.

Blessed are you among women,
