Statistics

  • People 65 and older will comprise 20% of the U.S. population by 2020. Fastest growing segment of America's population
  • According to 2010 census 28% of the 65 and up population lives alone trying to support themselves.
  • Elderly patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD) spend nearly twice as much on health care as those without the disease
  • Suicide rate among people over 75 is higher than that of any other group—more than one and a half times the average

Purpose?

The Mission of the Isabella County Commission on Aging is to promote the health, independence and fulfillment of older adults through the coordination and provision of diverse services and opportunities.

Raking leaves project

  • Been going on for 5 years now
  • �Starting around the end of October, and ending November 24
  • Special Projects
    • yard work, window washing, special requests, Fundraisers, events, annual golf outing, flu clinics, and Have a Heart.
