Students taking CP or Honors ELA should choose one book for their grade level NEXT year.
Students taking MYP ELA 9 or 10, IB 11 or 12, AP Language and Composition or AP Literature and Composition will receive Summer Reading from those teachers directly. They are NOT required to do this assignment as well.

Choose one of the following assignments to complete with the Summer Reading text of your choice. Summer reading assignments will be collected during the week of September 2 - September 5.
Choice 1: Sketch Notes
Students will create 3 pages of sketch notes while reading their book.
Sketch notes are intended to be done on paper/pencil while thinking in pictures and phrases. Check out this video or this video for a quick overview on how to

Choice 2: Written Response
Students will write a 1 - 3 paragraph response to each of the following prompts about the book. Please do this writing without the use of Advanced Grammarly or AI resources such as ChatGPT. Assignments will be checked for plagiarism. The goal of the written response is to express your original thoughts and analysis of the story you read.
