SAR CHALLENGE - WHAT MAKE US SPECIAL

  • SAR Challenge was requesting a video about SAR Radars from challenge
  • We explained whole Radar and SAR Systems in 5 minutes thanks to Animations and easy story telling with 6 people
  • Our main goal was to explain it as simply as we can. As Albert Einstein said «If you can’t explain it simply you don’t understand it well enough»
  • Thanks to NASA sources we understood everyting so fastly

WHAT IS SAR SYSTEM

  • Regular radar systems scan the area from a fixed point. But by movement SAR systems scans the area with better quality. Thanks to its platform movement and waves, it can act as if it were a larger antenna and receive signals in this way, just like the big radars on earth. And it is not just detecting the motionless objects, it can also detect the moving objects. Besides it can see through clouds, has higher spatial resolution and has the ability to have precise control over both sending and receiving.

HOW MAKES SAR SYSTEMS THAT

All this is possible thanks to hertz (both the human hertz and the frequency unit hertz)

The spatial resolution(spatial resolution: a measure of the smallest object that can be resolved by the sensor,)of radar data is directly related to the ratio of the sensor wavelength to the length of the sensor's antenna. For a given wavelength, the longer the antenna, the higher the spatial resolution.

In this concept, a sequence of acquisitions from a shorter antenna are combined to simulate a much larger antenna, thus providing higher resolution data and that’s one of biggest reason why we are using thats radar little tricks could save life

WHY WE ARE USE SAR SYSTEMS -WHAT IS POTANTIAL BEHIND SAR

  • We can analyze the usage of SAR systems in two different types as NAVAL and AIR
  • Air Radars mostly using for military, mapping, weather forecasts, spotting forest fires and unique opportunity estimate world biomass , thanks to see through clouds
  • Naval radars are using for monitoring the ship traffic in the commerical sense
  • These are systems could be use in future especially mars and beyond
