BOARD=OFFICERS

We use the word “Board” to describe us as a whole and “Officer” to describe an individual. We can also use “Board Member”. Just for those of you who might be confused. We switch between these from time to time.

Why should you join the key club board?

you get to put it on your resumes
you can put it on college apps
you can have a voice in what happens in key club
you have the power to lead over 100 students
awards
most importantly...you make friends with people you didn’t know you would be friends with and you get put into this very close penguin family <3 awwwww

OUR POSITIONS AND WHAT DEY DOOOOO

PRESIDENT

setting and monitoring the goals of the club
leading club meetings
appointing committee chairs
delegating tasks as necessary
recruiting
training
retaining members
maintaining regular communication with the lieutenant governor and other Kiwanis members of his or her division

Executive Vice President

service
serves the president, other club officers, committees and the general membership
expected to learn the duties of the president in order to fill in or take over as necessary
Do anything that isn’t being done
Nag everybody to do their job
be the responsible one
Fix any problems or drama

Treasurer

controls the club’s money, both its collection and disbursement
collects member dues
prepares and monitors the budget
maintains accurate financial records
keeps in close contact with Tina at the activities office and the advisor
fills out all necessary paperwork

Projects Committee Chair

create the upcoming projects to revolve around the theme of the month
in charge of every project that Key Club pursues
makes all the schedules
goes to Ms. Cook for permission on certain projects
reaches out to anybody who can help to make the project a success

Historian

take pictures for the club
take videos for the club
immediately stores them on our drive, dropbox, and any other form of storage
posts pictures on facebook for avid students
make scrapbook for club rush if financially stable
attends most events to capture photos

Web Editor of Technology

responsible for the website
creating the powerpoints for the meetings
don’t be deceived by how short this slide is
know all of key club international’s logo and text regulations

Web Editor of Newsletter

responsible for creating a newsletter completed with pictures and proper new reports
Once completed, they are submitted to the international office to be included in the monthly news reports
works with historian for photos
ALWAYS KNOW WHEN THE 13TH NEARS

responsible for keeping the membership informed about important activities, opportunities and deadlines at the club, district and international level
update every social media platform with the respective information

Sergeant of Arms

responsible for managing the activities of the club and keeping the club under control
They are there to facilitate and implement order
gotta be loud and assertive
leads the pledge at every meeting (including board meetings) ESPECIALLY WHEN OUR KIWANIS ADVISOR IS THERE

Directors

responsible for hyping up your class
talk about how wonderful key club is when they’re in class
be spirited
makes the most input during board meetings according to what might be ideal for their class and for all the members
help secretaries with fetching hours if needed

keep drama outside of work

Board Boot Camp Schedule

Everyone has an equal chance of becoming an officer

First we will hold our elections this Wednesday, February 3

You will be presenting your speeches (more info on next slide)

The people will vote

We announce the Finalist

Finalist will be trained under retiring officers

You will be watching our board meetings as well as host one yourselves under our surveillance

From there you’ll get a feel of whether you’re fit for the job

If you choose to drop your position it is the Board of 2016-2017 to figure out who will fill your spot

Your guy’s first mission will be finding a new advisor!
