SENIOR PICTURES

Formals must be taken by Cady Studios to be included in the yearbook. Casual photos may be taken by Cady studios or any outside photographer. Once photos are taken at Cady studios you will be required to chose the formal and casual you want used in the yearbook. FBHS will automatically have those photos sent to us. If you chose to use another casual photo, you will need to submit those separately and will automatically replace the Cady studios casual.

    • GAfutures offers a Student Dashboard that tracks a student's progress as they work towards high school graduation, plan for college, and attend college in Georgia.

    • The dashboard includes information on HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship academic eligibility, ACT and SAT scores, FAFSA and GSFAPP, and more. GAfutures also allows students to apply to colleges in Georgia.

    • Students can apply to multiple schools using a single application.

      • Common App is accepted by over 500 colleges/universities; students fill out one application; teachers/counselors upload one recommendation/school report
      • Check college website to see options to apply
      • If student used SAT fee waiver- they could get application fee waiver

RECOMMENDATIONS – JUNIOR OR SENIOR TEACHER; SCHOOL COUNSELOR.

      • Make sure you complete your Brag Sheet and request the recommendations at least TWO WEEKS before the deadline.
      • Remember to ask teachers before submitting their names. Brag Sheets are available in the Counselor’s Office. Our deadline to submit recommendations and documents is usually 7 days after your deadline.

    • You are NOT AUTOMATICALLY ACCEPTED to your matched schools. YOU STILL HAVE TO APPLY!

    • Matched schools will also be on your GaFutures account. You can go there to “request more information” or “claim your spot.” If you “claim your spot,” the college will reach out about starting the application process.

    • UGA, GA. TECH and GEORGIA COLLEGE AND STATE UNIVERSITY are the only schools NOT participating in the Georgia Match program.

Hope Grant / Zell Grant / Hope career Grant

    • GaFutures provides all the information about all of these grants and they can help you pay for post-secondary education. These are separate from the HOPE SCHOLARSHIP. They do have the same residency requirements, but different GPA requirements.

    • Did you know that there are 10 pages of Certificate programs that are approved for the HOPE CAREER GRANT that could be Free Tuition for your student? FREE!! It is definitely worth checking out at GaFutures.org
