Academic Course Extension (ACE)

ACE contracts are given to students by their teacher(s). These contracts outline specific tasks and assignments that students need to complete to boost their final semester grades. It’s a chance to improve their grades and finish the semester strong with the goal of earning a C or better in their fall semester classes

Parents are asked to contact their student's teacher for more information. Please log-in to Schoology to see Final Semester Grades or to contact teacher.

Purpose for ACE

Students who have earned a final semester grade below a “C” can be given the opportunity to engage in additional time, practice and assignments to fill gaps in learning, demonstrate proficiency in key skills and concepts, and improve their grade to a C or better.

ACE can take place immediately following the semester in which the low grade was posted. The teacher of record and counseling team will support students in ACE to engage in independent or guided learning, as a grade improvement can be activated on their transcript upon successful completion of course requirements.

Giving students access to ACE is a priority for raising C or better rates, improving eligibility for 4-year college admissions, and increasing financial aid award options.
