  1. Make something using coil building
  2. Needs to be at least 6” wide x 10” tall (no larger than 12x12” for now ;-)
  3. Be something more than just a straight-walled cylinder (aka “Trash Can”)
  4. Utilize what you learn about Movement and Jomon Pottery to create a dynamic design.
  5. Needs to represent something personal to you- what that something is, is a creative choice you need to make.
  6. Work days (1 day for planning, 4 for building)

Expecting you to document the journey your design takes from beginning to end. It’s ok for design to change throughout the process however be mindful of time

  • Creative Processes Video and Notes
  • Brainstorming Techniques and How to Skim an Article
    • Article and Notes - 5 minutes max if you do skimming techn:
      1. LIMIT WHAT YOU READ! Less is usually better when reading for understanding!
      2. Look for text that stands out (larger, bolded, numbered, etc)
      3. Title of sections are usually enough to use context clues to understand them- if not move onto next step.
      4. Look for illustrations, links, smaller bolded text if you need more information about a technique
  • Personal Project Planning Documentation must include:
    • Brainstorming
    • Research (Source image collection)
