A sense of Belonging at Park means creating a safe, trusting and nurturing learning environment where students and staff feel included, respected, and supported; recognizing that every student and staff member has unique strengths (strength-based approach to teaching and learning); being intentional about the images on the walls; pictures in the books, holidays recognized; accepting and celebrating ALL; promoting student agency, voice and choice.

December: Park Family Winter Celebration
In addition to a warm, beautiful winter morning celebration, each staff member received an individualized holiday card from administration, showing how and why we appreciate them.
We continue learning each month about a SEL theme; SEL competencies, community circles and also learning strategies to help us regulate our emotions ex. Rainbow relaxation.

After learning about our Jan SEL theme Patience in a community circle, students wrote about a time they had to be patient:(above)
“I had to be patient for the Covid numbers to get lower”.
Every day, we have OHS students coming from 2:45pm- all students are home safely. They help making sure they have coats on, line on the bus, reading, writing and art in waiting room after school.

Monday, February 14th: Whole school wears the colors of LOVE. Join in on the fun! Wear red, purple, pink. Whole staff breakfast in the cafeteria at 8:15 AM.
Tuesday, February 15th: Angelman Syndrome Day. Whole school wears BLUE. See resources in our memo for more info.
Wednesday, February 16th: Yay, for the 100th Day of School. Let’s write 100 reasons why WE LOVE PARK SCHOOL!
