My school has 1869 learners from grade 8 to 12

Each grade has a sectional principal reporting to my deputy principal

Educators are given opportunity to lead and manage different committees

Committees such as LTSM, Safety, Sports, Culture, Debate, Wellness, social and welfare

I encourage educators to initiate their own professional development by identifying areas of their weakness by furthering their studies; enroll for ACE, attend AMESA conferences and write journal articles. This kind of self development will make them to acquire CPTD type 1 points

I organized workshops for my teachers to discuss SIP (School Improvement Plan)

Educators are given opportunity to lead and manage the different committees mentioned above

I connected WIFI and made it accessible to all teachers to upload CPTD points.

In each an every staff meeting a SACE register is circulated for educators to earn points

I encourage educators to have their SACE number when they attend workshops

How do you teach in a way which ensures that you address the impact and effects of the following social justice issues: �Poor facilities and inadequate resources;�Teenage pregnancy and/or, HIV and Aids and/or other diseases;

TEACH THROUGH RELEVANT EXAMPLES

Our school has more diverse classrooms today more than before. We no longer have learners sitting in front of us with the same background or experience.

When I teach, I need to build on individual and socio-economic experiences and their prior knowledge.

The type of practical examples that I give need to vary based on the background of the learners. For example:

Most of my learners come from poor facilities and inadequate resource background. This kind of background result in teenage pregnancies, HIV and Aids and other deceases.

So any subject, be it Mathematics, Language or History can have examples that touches teenage pregnancies (in Statistics) (Debate in Languages) (prevalence of teenage pregnancy per demographics in Geography) and their impact in the economy.
